Webroot’s top-tier plan is not what I like. The system optimization feature is very basic and there are many cheaper cloud storage options available that are better than Webroot.

Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus for PC Gamers — Best Single-User Option

Webroot has a plan for PC gamers that includes all the security features of SecureAnywhere AntiVirus, as well as the system optimization feature. SecureAnywhere AntiVirus PC Gamers is limited to one device and can be used for up to three years.

This is an excellent option for single-user computers, but not for gamers. BullGuard, McAfee Gamers Security and Norton 360 For Gamers all offer game boosters that increase CPU performance and keep computers running efficiently.

Is Webroot a Safe Antivirus in 2022?

Webroot scanner is fast and lightweight but not as effective as other antivirus products. However, I noticed some lag while browsing during scans. Although Bitdefender and Norton are slower than Norton, they both detected 100% malware in all our tests.

Webroot was also unable to detect the majority of ransomware samples that attempted to encrypt my files during ransomware simulations. The anti-exploit Web Shield continued to crash my browser, although the Identity Shield (and Phishing Shield) were both fine.

Webroot does not include parental controls or a VPN. However, it does offer a password manager and system optimizer. LastPass is an excellent password manager that offers advanced 2FA functionality, easy auto-filling, password sharing and many other features. The system optimizer was not impressive to me — TotalAV and Avira offer more tools for system tuning.

Webroot’s mobile app has an antivirus and a phone location for Android. However, the iOS app is very limited — it only offers file backup. Even though the interface of Webroot is rather archaic, it is easy to use.
